The domestic markets regained momentum after the recent dip and climbed nearly a per cent, owing to mixed cues.  At close, Sensex zoomed 478.59 points or 0.84 per cent at 57,625.91 level while Nifty was up by 140.10 points or 0.82 per cent at 17,123.60.  

Sensex ended the day 451.03 points higher at the 60,566.16 level. Nifty gained 130.50 points to close above 18,000. About 1,776 shares advanced, 1,600 shares declined while 101 shares were unchanged. 

On Wednesday, the benchmark indices recovered in the afternoon session but closed lower towards the end of the trading session.

BSE Sensex managed to close higher by 0.80 per cent while BSE Smallcap and BSE Midcap indices underperformed the key benchmark index. 

On Friday, the benchmark indices ended on a positive note for the sixth trading session as investors took optimistic clues that the foreign funds (FIIs) are back in action in the Indian stock markets. FIIs are seen to be net buyers on all the trading days of this week.

It was a happy Monday on the bourses as markets all over the world were trading in positive territory despite volatility and rising inflation. Sensex surged 1.41 per cent to end at 54,521.15 whereas Nifty 50 clocked in 229.30 points or 1.43 per cent to close at the 16,278.50 level.    

The domestic equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 continued their losses in a consecutive fourth as the financial and IT pockets erased the gains in the second half of the session. 

On Monday, the Indian equity markets kept an eye on the quarterly results. The weak start of IT earnings lowered the sentiments which made benchmark indices start the session on  a negative note. 

For the second straight trading session, the bulls took charge over the benchmark indices as declining commodity prices lowered inflationary concerns. 

On Wednesday, the equity benchmark indices ended on a higher note with Nifty closing near 16,000 level supported by the auto, FMCG and financial stocks.

Erasing the gains recorded in the first half of Tuesday's trading session, the benchmark indices closed marginally lower. At close, the Sensex was down 100.42 points or 0.19 per cent at 53,134.35 level whereas Nifty was down 24.50 points or 0.15 per cent at 15,810.90 level. 

On Monday, the benchmark indices recouped the morning losses in the afternoon session with Sensex closing 326.84 points or 0.62 per cent higher at 53,234.77 level whereas Nifty being 83.40 points or 0.53 per cent up at 15,835.40 level.
