Despite strong global signals, the Nifty 50 began flat with a bearish bias on Tuesday. Watch out for these powerful stocks that are experiencing a strong positive breakout on Tuesday.

Nifty 50 began flat with a negative bias at 17,383.25 on the final trading day of February, compared to its previous close of 17,392.7. Despite worries about the US Fed's interest rate hike frenzy to control inflation, major Wall Street indices closed the day higher on Monday.

 

In February 2023, Nasdaq Composite, S&P 500, and Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.01 per cent, 2.31 per cent, and 3.51 per cent, respectively. These indices, however, finished in the green on Monday. Furthermore, at the time of writing, their respective futures were also trading in the green.

 

South Korea’s KOSPI and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index were leading the way as major Asian market indices traded higher following the overnight Wall Street action.

 

Nifty 50 was trading at 17,368.8, down 23.9 points or 0.14 per cent, at 11:20 a.m. Frontline indices, on the other hand, underperformed broader market indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index jumped by 0.43 per cent, while the Nifty Small-Cap 100 index advanced by 0.19 per cent.

 

The advance-decline ratio on the BSE was positive, with 1653 stocks rising, 1475 falling, and 59 staying unchanged. Except for FMCG, metals, pharma, and banks, all other sectors were trading in the green.

 

FIIs were net sellers, while DIIs were net purchasers, according to statistics as of February 27. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,022.52 crore. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) invested Rs 2,231.66 crore in shares. FIIs have sold shares worth Rs 6,531.43 crore this month, while DIIs have purchased shares worth Rs 14,629.41 crore.
