Rs 5,79,100 Crore Order Book: Civil Construction Company Secures Two Major Water Treatment Orders in Rajasthan Worth Thousands of Crores

Despite the positive order development, L&T shares were trading lower at Rs 3,624, down 1.51 per cent at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a Large-Cap engineering and infrastructure conglomerate, announced on June 3 that its Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business has secured significant orders from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan. Despite the positive order development, L&T shares were trading lower at Rs 3,624, down 1.51 per cent at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3.

The first order is part of the Rajasthan Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project – Phase II. The scope involves laying 5,251 km of pipelines, building 38 ground-level service reservoirs, constructing 20 pump houses, and installing 132 overhead tanks. The infrastructure will serve 285 villages and towns in the Jhunjhunu district. The second order is focused on upgrading the water supply system in the Kekri-Sarwar area of Ajmer and includes 43 km of pipelines. Both contracts also include automation and SCADA system integration, a 1-year defect liability period, and a comprehensive 10-year operations and maintenance commitment.

These repeat orders highlight L&T’s robust execution history in Rajasthan, where the company has already completed 24 water infrastructure projects. The new contracts further strengthen L&T’s presence in India’s water infrastructure sector and reflect the government’s continued trust in its capabilities.

Financially, L&T reported a solid Q4 FY25 performance. The company recorded an order inflow of Rs 89,600 crore, marking a 24 per cent year-on-year increase. Revenue rose 11 per cent to Rs 74,400 crore, and profit after tax (PAT) grew 25 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,500 crore. This included an exceptional gain of Rs 475 crore. The EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 11 per cent, and free cash flow for FY25 amounted to Rs 17,400 crore.

For the full FY25, L&T delivered Rs 3,56,600 crore in order inflows, up 18 per cent year-on-year, while revenue climbed 16 per cent to Rs 2,55,700 crore. The company’s order book stood at Rs 5,79,100 crore, a 22 per cent year-on-year growth. PAT rose 15 per cent to Rs 15,000 crore, with Return on Equity improving by 140 basis points to 16.3 per cent. Notably, the Net Working Capital to Revenue ratio dropped to a 10-year low of 11 per cent. L&T declared a dividend of Rs 34 per share for FY25.
