Optime: Schaeffler India launches a machine condition monitoring system

Leading industrial and automotive supplier, Schaeffler India informed the bourses on Wednesday that it has launched a new product called ‘Optime’, an efficient and easy-to-use low-cost solution designed to monitor the condition of all process-critical assets across entire machine and equipment.

The launch of this product in India is a part of the overall launch in the entire Asia Pacific region. Schaeffler’s Optime provides automated condition monitoring in a cost-effective but efficient manner thereby, making it very convenient for maintenance personnel and facility operators.

The system promises to be easily scalable as it consists of essentially wireless and battery-powered vibration sensors and a gateway. The data captured by the sensors is analysed using specially-developed algorithms and thus, customers can visualise the resulting analysis data on an app.

The new system will provide an early warning of damage to machine components such as electric motors, fans, and pumps. It is also said to provide early warning of imbalances, misalignments, and knocking.

Schaeffler is engaged in the sale of ball bearings & related components and sale of machines. The company produces ball, cylindrical, wheel, and spherical bearing, among other accessories.

At 9.50 am on Thursday, the stock of Schaeffler India was trading at Rs 3,552.40 per share, up by 0.75 per cent or Rs 26.45 per share on BSE, against a 0.13 per cent decline in the benchmark index. The 52-week high is recorded at Rs 4,950 and the 52-week low is Rs 3,044.10 on BSE.
