Maruti offset input costs by hiking prices of select models

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, one of the leading automobile manufacturers in India announced that it has increased prices of select models to balance the impact of the rising input cost.

According to reports, the company has increased prices by up to Rs 10,000 with immediate effect. The price change ranges up to 4.7 per cent (ex-showroom Delhi), in effect from January 27, 2020.

Below is the change in price (ex-showroom Delhi):

Alto: The price of the company’s small range vehicle has gone up from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000.

 S-Presso: Popularly known as mini Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), the price rise of this model has increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 8,000.

WagonR: Available in six exotic colours, the price of this model has increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 4,000.

Ertiga: The company has also increased price of its multi-purpose vehicle, Ertiga, from Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000.

Baleno: This car comes in four variants with a choice of either diesel or petrol engines and the price of this model has increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 8,000.

XL6: As the name suggests, it is a XL car with six-seater arrangement and also, features as the first Nexa product. The price of this model increased up to Rs 5,000.

At 12.16 pm on Tuesday, the stock of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is trading at Rs 7,134.20, down by 0.13 per cent against its previous close of Rs 7,143.75. The market, however, opened at Rs 7,161.00 on BSE.
