The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices are trading in the red on Tuesday with the Sensex down 0.76 per cent at 81,552 and the Nifty-50 down 0.70 per cent at 24,826. About 1,958 shares have advanced, 1,976 shares have declined and 150 shares were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 85,978.25 on September 27, 2024 and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 26,277.35 on September 27, 2024.
The broader markets were in the green territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index up 0.18 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.19 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Bayer CropScience Ltd, Container Corporation of India Ltd and Supreme Industries Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers were Shriram Properties Ltd, Godavari Biorefineries Ltd and Apollo Micro Systems Ltd.
On the sectoral front, the indices traded mixed with the BSE Industrials Index and BSE Healthcare Index were the Top Gainers while the BSE Focused IT Index and BSE FMCG Index were the Top Losers.
As of May 27, 2025, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies was approximately Rs 444 lakh crore or USD 5.20 trillion. On the same day, 89 stocks hit a 52-week high while 26 stocks touched a 52-week low.
