Among all BSE-listed companies, 244 stocks were locked in the upper circuit, and 143 stocks were locked in the lower circuit.

On Friday, the Sensex gained by 909.64 points to close at 60,841.88, while the Nifty 50 increased by 243.65 points to close at 17,854.05

Barring Nifty IT index, all the sectoral indices on NSE traded in the red.

At 11 am on Monday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 jumped in the morning session amidst positive global cues.  

BSE Smallcap index relatively outperformed broader markets by slipping only 0.13 per cent to end at 26,739.14. 

BSE Smallcap index closed on a flat note at 25,790.71.

BSE Smallcap index climbed 1.18 per cent to cloe at 24,136.33. 

BSE Smallcap index underperformed broader markets, falling by 0.85 per cent to close at 28,369.82. 

BSE Small-cap index outperformed broader markets, registering gains of 0.91 per cent, ending at 27,141.43.

BSE Smallcap index jumped 1.33 per cent, ending at 26,021.90. Top gainers of the index include Vadilal Industries, Kennametal India, Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys, Astra Microwave Products and Gujarat Ambuja Exports.   

BSE Smallcap index replicated the broader market trend, gaining 0.80 per cent i.e. 211.95 points and closing at 26,662.33.  

Benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex fell by ~1 per cent, ending the session at 17,110.20 and 57,276.94.
