CRISIL business show strong resilience to pandemic; to pay dividend of Rs 6

The board of directors of CRISIL has approved the payment of the second interim dividend for the financial year ending December 31, 2020, of Rs 6 per equity share of the face value of Re 1 each.

The press release further said that the dividend will be paid on August 19, 2020. Announcing its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2020, CRISIL’s consolidated income from operations increased by 13.5 per cent to Rs 471.8 crore when compared to Rs 415.8 crore reported for the same period of the previous year. Net profit gained during the quarter ended June 30, 2020, stood at Rs 66.3 crore as compared to Rs 66.9 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

For the six months ended June 30, 2020, consolidated income from operations was increased by 8.2 per cent to Rs 899.6 crore from Rs 831.6 crore in the corresponding period of 2019. Consolidated net profit gained for the half-year ended June 30, 2020, grew by 7.6 per cent to Rs 154.5 crore as compared to Rs 143.5 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent lockdown restrictions, the company’s business remained strong. CRISIL had completed the acquisition of Greenwich Associates LLC on February 26, 2020. Hence, the strong performance of the company’s research segment was led by robust growth in its Global Research & Analytics business and contribution from Greenwich.

On Wednesday, the stock of the company closed at Rs 1,773.25, up by 1.48 per cent or Rs 25.20 per share. Its intraday high was Rs 1,776.60 and the intraday low was Rs 1,695.70. Meanwhile, its 52-week high is Rs 2,070 and the 52-week low is Rs 1,083.50.
