The vaccine candidate ZyCov-D has been developed originally at the company’s research centre-Vaccine Technology Centre (VTC) in Ahmedabad, India. The vaccine when tested on animals brings out a strong immune response in multiple animal species like mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits. 

On a month-on-month basis, the improvement in sales was witnessed by the company. In June 2020, it generated 80 per cent of its planned average monthly sales, which was 60 per cent in May and as low as 45 per cent in April 2020.

As far as capex spends are concerned, it envisages spending nearly Rs 1,500 crore in FY21. The total expenditure will see an equal split of small molecules and the biosimilars.
