With this weak auto sales numbers, on Thursday, the Nifty auto index made an intraday low of 6,783 and at 14:18 hours, Nifty Auto index was trading at 6,806.05, down by 42.30 points. Looking at the stock movements of the automakers, the stock of Maruti Suzuki gained nearly 2 per cent whereas Ashok Leyland declined by nearly 4 per cent.

India's manufacturing activity strengthened in the month of July, on the back of a quicker upturn in factory orders. Manufacturing performance surged to 52.5 in July from 52.1 in June.

The markets on August 01, 2019 opened gap down. BSE Sensex is trading at 36738.67, down by 742.45 points and the Nifty is trading at 10892.85, down by 192.55 points.

Generally, D/E should be less than one as it lends financial stability. But there are capital intensive industries like infra, capital goods wherein D/E ratio remains at a higher level compared with the companies that operate in the FMCG and IT space which are like cash-generating machines.
