Out of major factors to look for in the budget, the fiscal deficit is something that economist are keen to understand.

The government has planned to take a few more steps to make e-mobility a prime focus and increase the number of users of electronic vehicles. On the other hand, the finance minister announced an additional cess of Re. 1 per litre for petrol and diesel in the budget.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Friday commenced the first budget of the second Narendra Modi-led government. The speech lasted for over two hours. The FM has lowered the fiscal deficit target to 3.3 per cent for the current fiscal from the earlier estimate of 3.4 per cent of the GDP. Immense importance is given to Infrastructure, education, rural growth amongst other sectors under focus.
