Va Tech Wabag surges on bagging orders worth Rs 760 crore

Va Tech Wabag Limited has secured multiple orders of over Rs 760 crore in India, Switzerland and Singapore.

In India, the company will design, build and operate 141 Million Litres per Day (MLD) raw water intake work on River Ganga at Bhagalpur, 90 MLD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) with the proprietary plate settler technology worth approximatey Rs 278 crore. The project will be executed over a period of 31 months and will include operation and maintenance for 10 years. The project will be funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Also, it will design and build 178 MLD WTP at Coimbatore worth Rs 94 crore for Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) board using space saving proprietary plate settler technology. The WTP will treat the water from Bhavani River and be supplied to the newly-added areas of Coimbatore. The plant will be executed over a period of 24 months and would conduct the operational maintenance for over a period of 10 years. The project would be funded by Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) CAMR scheme.

In Switzerland, it will build 103 MLD Saint Sulpice II — Drinking WTP at Geneva Lake, making it one of the biggest advanced technology-based drinking water treatment facility in Switzerland and the biggest order in terms of value for Wabag Switzerland organisation. The contract worth 37.4 million Swiss Francs will be executed by a consortium of WABAG and OTV-Veolia. WABAG's scope in the contract is 24 million Swiss Francs. Post the completion of process, the new treatment plant will cater up to 50 per cent of the total demand for Lausanne region in the next 20 years.

In Singapore, the company has secured a 10 million Singapore dollar contract for the design, fabrication, supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of Odour Control Systems (OCS) for the influent pumping station package of Tuas Water Reclamation Plant (TWRP) of Public Utilities Board (PUB) in Singapore through Koh Brothers-China Harbor Joint Venture. Wabag Singapore has also secured a 12 million Singapore dollar extension contract for servicing and maintenance of sludge drying systems at Changi Water Reclamation Plant (WRP). As per the extended contract, Wabag Singapore will service and maintain the plant for another two years.

On Wednesday, the stock of Va Tech Wabag surged 4.5 per cent to Rs 224.10 from its previous close of Rs 214.35 on BSE.
