  • Good reputation among customers
  • Talent base
  • Good infrastructure

Weaknesses
The absence of certain strengths may be viewed as weakness. For example:

  • Lack of infrastructure
  • Poor talent base

Opportunities
An external environmental analysis may reveal certain new opportunities for profit and  growth. Some examples of such opportunities include:

  • Arrival of new technology
  • Loosening of regulations
  • Unfulfilled customer needs

Threats
Changes in the external environmental also may present threats to the industry. Some of the examples of such threats include:

  • Government regulations
  • Emergence of new substitute products
