Indian Oil Board gives go-ahead for companys Rs 13,805 crore PX-PTA complex

Indian Oil Corporation announced today that the company’s board had approved the implementation of an Integrated Para-Xylene (PX) and Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) complex project at Paradip, Odisha, at an estimated investment of Rs 13,805 crore. The PX-PTA complex is estimated to be completed by 2024 and will be integrated with the company’s Paradip Refinery which is operational since 2015.

The company generates nearly 48 per cent revenue from the consumer electronics segment, which mainly comprises of LED TVs. During Q4FY20, the company added three new customers for this business including Toshiba. The company is in a process to enhance LED TV capacity to 4.4 million units in FY21 from 3.6 million currently.

August F&O series to begin on buoyant note

Despite markets losing close to a per cent on the Futures & Options (F&O) expiry day, the July series ended with gains of almost 868 points or 8.47 per cent. Early trends in SGX Nifty suggests that the first trading session of the August F&O series is likely to begin with optimism. At 7:45 AM, SGX Nifty is trading with gains of 0.57 per cent at 11,147.50 level.
