Overnight Digest: Stocks likely to be in focus on October 19

In the first trading session of the week, equity markets ended on a positive note, making fresh highs led by metal, PSU bank and power stocks. Around 1677 shares have advanced, 1563 shares declined, and 127 shares are unchanged on Monday.

On a sectoral front, mixed trends were witnessed in some sectoral indices with profit-taking experienced in few over-owned names. The broader indices BSE midcap and smallcap added 0.95 per cent and 0.69 per cent each.

Keep a watch on the following stocks for Tuesday's trading session:

Granules India - The US Food & Drug Administration (US FDA) has approved the ANDA filed by Granules Pharmaceuticals, Inc (GPI), a wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of Granules India, for Dofetilide Capsules, 125 mg, 250 mg, and 500 mg used to treat certain types of irregular heartbeat. The product would be manufactured at the GPI facility located in Chantilly, Virginia, USA and is expected to be launched shortly.

Vodafone Idea & Larsen and Toubro - Vodafone Idea and engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro have partnered, for a pilot project to test 5G-based Smart City solutions, as part of its ongoing 5G trials on Government allocated 5G spectrum.

Infosys - The company announced a fresh collaboration with Brent Council to make high-quality digital education accessible to every Brent resident and boost employability skills through its digital learning and training program, Infosys Springboard. On Monday, the stock of Infosys has zoomed up to 4.79 per cent and closed at Rs 1,798.20 per share. 

Adani Ports - The company announced that it has raised Rs 1,000 crore by allotment of 10,000 rated, listed, secured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of the face value of Rs 10,00,000 each on a private placement basis. The stock ended 0.48 per cent lower in Monday's trading session. 

Bullish Moving Average Crossover: The shares of Tech Mahindra, Narayana Hrudalaya, Shriram City Union and Bharat Dynamics managed to make a bullish moving average crossover on Monday. These shares will be in focus on Tuesday. 

Bullish Stochastic Average Crossover: The shares of Grindwell Norton, Hindustan Zinc, Vedanta and Nalco managed to make a bullish Stochastic Average Crossover on Monday. These shares will be viewed with a bullish perspective on Tuesday.
