NHPC PAT increases nearly 5 times in Q1FY18

NHPC declared its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 on Wednesday.

The company reported total sales of Rs. 2327.5 crore for Q1FY18, which represents a 70.8 per cent sequential increase and 5.9 per cent YoY increase.

The company's operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter was Rs 1032.7 crore and its EBIT margin stood at 44.4 per cent.

Its PAT was Rs 862.7 crore, which represents a sequential QoQ increase of 412.2 per cent and a YoY increase of 0.6 per cent.

NHPC Limited is engaged in electric power generation through hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy work.

The company's stock opened at Rs 31.25 and touched intra-day low of Rs 30.75 on the BSE.
