Indices closed lower in a volatile session as investors fled risky stocks amid Hindenburg allegations on Adani group. Adani stocks witnessed strong sell off for second consecutive day as most of the stocks hit 20 per cent lower circuits.

 Indices closed on a negative note as strong sell-off across banks and real estate, along with fraud allegations on Adani group, dented investors’ sentiment. NSE Nifty 50 index slipped 1.25 per cent to close at 17,900 levels while S&P BSE Sensex tanked over 775 points.

Indices have closed on a slightly negative note as profit booking in PSU Banks and pharma stocks dragged the broader market. NSE Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex end flat while Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap slipped half a per cent.  

Indices ended positively on a volatile trading session, led by a strong support from the IT, pharma and banking stocks. NSE Nifty 50 index surged half a per cent to close above 18,100 level while S&P BSE Sensex managed to put up over 300 points on the board.

Indices close the week on a disappointing note as the benchmark indices slip amid lack of buying interest ahead of results. NSE Nifty 50 index plunged half a per cent to close below 18,100 level while S&P BSE Sensex lost 236 points.
