On Thursday the market tumble by 621 points at 59,601.84 after having four consecutive winning streaks. The Nifty 50 index closed down at 17,745.90, slipping by 1 per cent i.e. 179 points. Top gainers of the index include UPL, Induslnd Bank, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel and Maruti. Whereas, JSW Steel, UltraTech Cement, Shree Cement, Tech Mahindra and Adani Ports are among the top losers. 

India INX successfully completes live trading session from Disaster Recovery site

India International Exchange (India INX), BSE’s international arm has successfully completed live trading session from the Disaster Recovery (DR) site, running the operations seamlessly for 22 hours for five days from 27th to 31st December, 2021. The average daily turnover during this session was 4.13 Billion USD. India INX is the first Market Infrastructure Institution (MII) in International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) to have successfully conducted the DR live session.

The Indian indices closed 2021 on a good note. BSE Sensex closed at 58,253.82 levels, soaring 459 points. Also, Nifty 50 index was seen jumping by over 150 points at the levels of 17,354.05. The top gainers of Nifty 50 index were Hindalco, Titan, UltraTech Cement, Tata Motors, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. The stocks that were seen in red today include NTPC, Cipla, Power Grid Corporation of India, and SBI Life. 

Biocon Biologics gains 1 per cent on partnering with Viatris; wins US Court decisions

The stock of Biocon gained 1.29 per cent to Rs 366.50 in today’s trading session.

Biocon Biologics, a subsidiary of Biocon announced on Friday that the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (USCAFC) has supported the decisions of the US Patent & Trademark Appeal Board for the unpatentability of five device patents for Sanofi’s Lantus SoloSTAR. The case was filed in April and May 2020.

Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty slipped today by 42.25 and 16.50 points, respectively in the first half of the session. Most of the nifty indices have weakened today, except for Nifty Pharma and Nifty Healthcare, which surged by 1.15 and 1.25 per cent respectively. The Nifty Metal index has dropped the most by 1.19 per cent.
