Overnight Digest: Stocks likely to be in focus on June 16

Tata Steel, ONGC, NTPC, Infosys and Wipro comprised of top Nifty losers while gainers included Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp and Grasim Industries

The equity markets traded cautiously ahead of the US Fed meet outcome with strength seen in the first half of the trading session and selling pressure in the second half of the trading session. In yet another volatile session, the benchmark indices ended lower with the Nifty closing below the 15,700 level. Investors would eye on  US Fed meet outcome along with commentary from the US Fed.        

 Sensex slipped 152.18 points or 0.29 per cent ending at 52,541.39 level while Nifty was down 39.90 points or 0.25 per cent at 15,692.20 level. Tata Steel, ONGC, NTPC, Infosys and Wipro comprised of top Nifty losers while gainers included Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp and Grasim Industries.  

Sectorally, all the indices ended flat with mixed performance. In the broader markets, BSE Midcap and BSE Smallcap indices ended in the green.    

Keep an eye on these stocks for Thursday's trading session: 

G R Infraprojects – The subsidiary of GR Infraprojects i.e. GR Bandikui Jaipur Expressway Private Limited has executed the concession agreement with National Highways Authority of India. The project, worth Rs 1,368 crore, includes the construction of a four-lane greenfield expressway in hybrid annuity mode. The shares of G R Infraprojects plunged up to 3.13 per cent in the first half of Wednesday's trading session. 

Varun Beverages - The shares of Varun Beverages hit a record high of Rs 805.45, rallying 5 per cent in an otherwise tough market. On the expectation of strong earnings, the stock has gained 8 per cent in the past two trading sessions. In the past three months, the shares of Varun Beverages have outperformed the market, jumping nearly 35 per cent against a 7 per cent decline in the benchmark index. 

Price volume breakout - Gayatri Projects, SH Kelkar and Co., DCM Shriram, Piramal Enterprises, Jamna Auto Industries, and Vardhman Textiles outperformed markets on Wednesday, witnessing a price volume breakout. These stocks will be in action on Thursday.  

Bullish engulfing pattern - AU Small Finance Bank, GMDC, and Thermax are some of the outperformers of Wednesday's trading session that displayed a bullish engulfing pattern. These stocks will be in focus on Thursday.
